A file on four probe carried out by BBC radio 4 shows that £9Million paid into a project designed to boost the Nigerian Leather exports industry was a fraud. 

The report states that Nigeria saw an increase of 700% in leather production in the year 2010. This means that millions of animals would have been killed to meet this increase; this is clearly not the case.

Reports also indicate that the Department for International Development turned a blind eye to this so as to maintain healthy statistics.
